I never wanted to stay home from work so badly! With a canvas ready to stretch and on the heels of a photo shoot scant hours before, there was quite a pull.
But I went, telling myself that anticipation is part of the fun. Still, imagine rolling out of bed and into the studio not just on weekends!
That photo shoot was a follow up. As frequently happens, a first session yields direction but needs a revisit to fine tune.
It’s been my good fortune to have excellent talent to work with : )
As happens, the objectives for this shoot were sorta kinda being met but and I had fingers crossed, hoping. And then we did a sequence I hadn’t planned that should help me finish an early composition.
After processing the images I was left with only one problem. I wanted to play hooky. To work on the new art to exhaustion then take it up again after a few hours of sleep repeating the cycle till the ideas have all run out and the paintings are all done.
That was a wildly successful shoot! (“successful” means one of the pictures works. It meets standards and can be used to build art. “Very successful” means a couple of them do. I still go with “wildly”) Every sequence of the session yielded good material. Photo: model, Jaela
Happily, now I have plenty to do
