This cartoon was made to display at www.lotus-europa.com and I’ll use it to learn this wordpress theme. The object is to show the steps I took to create the image.
My first attempt at displaying it as a gallery fell short with no way to control the image order.
This is the initial rough sketch
Now some definition is added as the main players are given detail
With the story telling components in place, now I began to define the setting
The trees on the right side made sense at first, but had to go because they confused the setting
Now it was time to add color. Subsequent back ground detail would be determined based on how it worked with that.
Several sessions were required to dial in the right level of detail and color balance
The last step was to caption and sign it. A nice added value to creating the cartoon digitally is that the car can be swapped out so that if you have a Fiat 850 Spyder or a Mini, a cartoon can be made just for you without redrawing the entire panel
