The Glory of Music

It began with an attempt to win a poster design contest, but I’d wanted to do a violin based photo shoot for some time. Leah picked out a skirt that maybe would have worked, but she had this crinkle fabric full skirt that I thought had more promise and so she changed into it. As it played out, that was a boon and we got even better pictures.

We didn’t have a choreography designed, but there were some constraints imposed by the rules of the contest to get us started. It’s been a good idea to go outside the lines with photo shoots  rather than focusing strictly on a narrow predetermined objective.

I thank my lucky stars for Leah, who knows how this process works and creates lively, fresh, believable scenes! She’s phenomenal : )

This sketch could fit in a 36″ by 24″ space. It’s presently a bit larger. I’ve added white space to the photo of the sketch so that it isn’t as cramped in that dimension.

The first sketch in the Violinist series. I'd hoped to make them their own set, but couldn't wait to get started
