After installing a distributor cap and rotor it was necessary to test the car. So we drove to the fort. First, we found a nice spot next to Clark College as the sun dropped low, illuminating the changing leaves (sorry, no pictures of that. It’s behind the camera and was spectacular!).
From there, on to the Fort. Almost there, I pulled over and took pictures toward the north where there is an expansive green with oaks and fir trees and picnic tables.
Joggers and bikers and cars were enjoying the open road and open walk ways.
The historic Fort was from nearly two hundred years ago when the British had a solid presence in the multinational installation. Fitting then that another artifact of the past come to commune.
And to soak up the last rays of a pleasant day. See the ancient spans of the interstate bridge behind the tower. 1916 and 1955. or so.
