In electrical circuits, something I truly do not comprehend but must employ to my benefit, there must be a return path to complete the circuit. Apparently electronic particles must flow in order to be useful. So after resolving many of the electrical problems on Hollie, my Europa, I determined that I would further improve the grounding of the motor. I pulled off the spade at the engine side of the ground strap and wiped it clean of oil. I scraped off the oxidation from the spade and also scraped the surface where it bolts to the motor. I put it all back and drove away. It was improvement again! Now I want to sand the ground, make it totally clean, and then reinstall it for further perfection. The car is fun when it’s running like this!
My journey began in a new neighborhood with sun ablaze.
Then I headed south, looking for a parking lot with a Corvette so I could find out if the story is true as told by a fellow Europa owner who says his girl friend got in and quipped that she never thought she’d be in a car where she had to look up to see into a Corvette. I didn’t find one. So I headed home, which took me through some S-curves bordered by tall forest and filled with ivy and vine maple.
Traffic never stopped. Cars, trucks, and several school busses whizzed by.
Faint hints of a trail half way up the canyon sides are reminders that my son long ago chose this spot to do his Eagal project. He got people together to repair and shore up the walking path that goes through this peaceful place.
As I snapped this photo a man approached with two little dogs on a leash. I heard him coming from a long way off, talking to the two of them. I greeted him and he ignored it, continuing without a word until he was further up the hill. Then the chatter began again.
Fall has not become obvious, but it’s just around the corner. Leaves on the ground from the heat of summer hint at that. The car ran better with the tightened and cleaned engine block connection in place! Test concluded.
