A Day in the Life

It started with prolific dreams. In the last one, I was working as a welder. The fitter had me tack up a flange and web assembly and what welds were done on it were all cracked. I was consulting the build spec sheet to determine if some necessary procedure had been skipped.

Upon awakening, I was reminded that the night before, someone I’d once known had gone missing and was presumed lost. Suicide, murder, or the application of vengeance are all possibilities. No new information.

The future has never looked so promising – I have a very clear vision about what I want to accomplish artistically. This is more exciting than I can convey.

My son and his wife and children are in the area on their way to another adventure. So good to see them!

We met at an Asian food place for lunch. On my bench was Mathew, me, Leah, and Mason.

Across from us were Esther, Cecilia, Carson, Janell, and Juliette. Lauren got the end seat. The cousins got along famously.

By the time the meal was over, Juliette was all warmed up to the crowd and joined the other kids running up and down the sidewalk in the sunshine.

She requested  more holographic glitter for her arms and hair. Then we went to the four winds and Carson followed me to my place.

I observed that the transfer box of the land rover appears still to be blowing oil all over the floor.

Esther is seven. She has a really nice way about her and likes to tell me that she loves visiting at my house.

Carson stayed on and we made dinner and we had a fine time. We played with a soccer ball with the kids on the patio. They jumped on the trampoline.

He wanted to go to a Korean barbeque but the kids could not be sold on it if it meant cutting into time with grandpa at his place. So we made a meal there and likely did at least as well as we’d have done at a sit down restaurant.

Mathew turned down the glitter.

He did get to pet Nickle the gray and white cat and hear him purr. And he did get to play with a lazer pointer.

We dug carrots and cleaned them up and ate them.

I showed the kids around my art studio.

I fit some work in the day as well. There are database issues at the office.

When they left, Esther had blossoms to share with her mother. And chocolate. And she had glitter in her hair. Her stuffed toy, a cocker spaniel, was all cleaned up and dry. We’d been using it as a ball for a game of catch and it sure got dirty!
