The Photo Session

The picture shoot was good for all. It gave Larissa a change from her endless reading.

We started taking pictures under the big maple where the girls have so much fun climbing and swinging. They were dressed for play.

Then we were called to dinner. I used that time out to fix a camera setting. I had a sinking feeling that the shoot might not get off the ground because I still didn’t have a plan. Larissa was anxious to get the ball rolling. She had  plenty of good ideas. Meanwhile, she pulled the rabbits out of their houses for pictures. She sat at the patio door step and Kayla made faces from the other side of the glass : )

The session didn’t really take off until after dinner and an outfit change. The sun was low and they donned dresses. Transformation!

Because I can trust them with the camera, the girls take some of the pictures. It adds a dimension I appreciate.

They both found Tiara’s to wear and then Kayla added a flower

Just when I had my composition, a surprise!

I can only imagine what was going on here! That kid on the scooter kept circling and looking interested.

Then the girls put on plaid shirts and we did a short segment. Actually, it was short for Kayla because she was ready to resume her beloved world of play. It was the largest segment of all for Larissa, cowgirl.

This is after I told her it was the “last picture”. She could go play! As she ran past me she said, “take pictures of me on the swing!”

Larissa stayed on after her plaid sesson and then put on a city girl persona with a chic outfit that included a knit dress and cap, a belt, nice shoes, and a little back pack. She looked like an entirely different person.

After the dresses and the plaid segments, Larissa turned city girl.

The end came all too soon. There were so many promising pictures, I was anxious to go home and have look through them. But Larissa could have come up with photo ideas until exhaustion set in, which at her age does not happen.  I’d have loved to have just kept going.
