Windblown hair can dress up a pretty face even more.
I needed a break from paint and opted to sketch.
First, I used measured restraint and kept this simple idea simple in sketching Larissa. I love the way it’s turned out.
Then I used an entirely different approach to sketching Leah. I shamelessly detailed and shaded from a photograph on a sketch book page just for the pure joy of it.
I loved drawing the more artsy portrait, but it was a disciplined joy and I took more pleasure in the having than the doing.
It was on thin enough sketchbook paper that it got a wrinkle when I glued it to backing board. (Bad technique on my part. Slow down.)
For this one I took more joy in the doing than in possessing. I offered it to her parents and now it’s gone.
