I Took a Phone Call

I don’t recall who I was chatting with or what it was about but I was about to go home when the call came in. We talked for a while during which I got to watch the reactions of passers by.

One family that passed by included several children who reached the building first. The teen kept looking back while she waited for the parents to catch up. She gazed repeatedly at the little car that was so unlike anything else in the lot. A speck among big family vehicles.

The ones that most caught my attention were those who were oblivious to the machine. It’s telling.  People really do pass by unique and beautiful things with nary a care or notice.

The ones I most enjoy are the ones who share a recognition of the wonder of it.

Sure, it’s an unusual sight, but there’s more behind it. The Europa is a genuine extension of Lotus mind-set and not a for-show bauble. I’m glad when it gets recognized as something legitimately unique. It’s a gem in its own right.  Even when they don’t know a bit about that, I like when people tip their hat to it, so to speak. Maybe they’ll do some digging and learn the history.

If nothing else, a spark of enthusiasm is the spark of life. It’s good to see.
